How Can severe Shoulder Blade Pain Be Treated?

Hi I have type one diabetes I ve been diagnosed with over active bladder. But I feel something else is going on I get bloated when my bladder fills up an it hurts ,not a pain an ache an pressure. I wake up at night from this ache and pressure to go toilet even if I haven t drunk for hours an it s 3/4times an hour simetimes an two three times during the night Four days ago I had flank pain and then under my shoulder blades it ached too I figured it was a kidney stone passing as I ve had a few my blood sugars are good so that is not causing me to go to the toilet. When I looked up symptoms for overactive bladder it didn t say bloating or a bad ache I don t leak an it s not urgent that I go it s more it s the only way to release the ache an pressure is to go .i hope you have some ideas because I m feeling quite baffled as to what to do next Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to musculoskeletal causes. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan to rule out tendon or ligament involvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
